Live Scoring is a great tool that can be utilized to give anyone interested up-to-date results of games as they are in progress. It can also be used as a replacement for a scorecard using the competitor scoring method.
In this support article we will provide instructions specifically for both Marker scoring and Competitor scoring.
This guide will demonstrate which event settings are required to enable Live Scoring for Club Competitions

Setting up Live Scoring
Results Settings (Generic Settings) – The final page of a competition setup (Results Settings) will need to include the following settings to trigger the Live Scoring feature.
Select ‘Enable ends-won scoring’ – this will allow use of the Live Scoring App to facilitate scoring.
App Scoring Settings – Select ‘Enable App Scoring’ and allow markers to finalise match.
Ends per match – set to appropriate ends or for unknown amount of ends set to a high number or leave blank.

The event can now be Live Scored using the Bowls Australia Live Scoring App and will display on the results portal.
Assigning Marker scoring
Assigning markers – Under Results Settings you can also assign markers by searching via Last Name or NIN. They will then have access to all matches via the Live Scoring App.

Assigning Competitor scoring
Competitor scoring – Players will be automatically able to Live score provided they are linked as part of the team entry. Noting this requires a player from both teams to enter scores which match.
Players would score in the same way as they would for a Pennant match as explained at https://support.bowlslink.com.au/docs/live-scoring-app/
Live Scoring Display Example
Below is an example of how the Live Scoring will display on a desktop device, i.e. computer or laptop via the BowlsLink Results Portal via the LIVE tab.

The YELLOW scores indicate the Overall scores for the match in a Sides competition – these are the aggregate of the Live and Completed side scores
GREEN scores indicate the Live scores for the match
GREY scores indicate the Completed scores for the match
Clicking the ‘Refresh’ icon on the top right-hand corner of the score will update the live results as they are input and updated.
Live Scores on BowlsLink Results Portal
Matches shown on BowlsLink Results portal will now show in order of Live, Upcoming and Completed. Live matches will be shown atop the Live matches page, followed by any Upcoming and Completed matches will be moved to the bottom of these pages as they are resulted.
This changed has been made based on user feedback who had to scroll through previously completed matches on the same day to find the LIVE scores.
