Link or QR Code for Accepting Entries

With more and more clubs/districts/regions moving entries to BowlsLink, you might want a way for the players to enter quickly and easily.

A great way to do this is to make the use the competition entry link in an email or convert it to a QR code.

The first thing is we need to get the link to the Competition or Event. As we are not accepting guest entries and want players logging in and registering, the below steps are how to get the URL link.

Note: Your competition must be set to Active to do this – it will not appear if it is in Draft.

Head to BowlsLink (https://bowlslink.com.au/) and go to your my club profile.

Click on Competitions.

Click on the Available tab

From here you can find your competition. You can search via the list which is in competition start date order or you can use the filters and use the organising body option and pop in your club/district/region and then click apply.

This will then filter the competitions to make it easier for the one you are looking for.

Locate the competition you want in the list and click on the spanner and click on Enter Competition.

This will then bring up the entry form. The main thing we want is the URL address in the address bar. Copy this as we will need it in our QR code generator site.

Once you have copied it you can use this Link in any Emails to potential entrants.

There is lots of free websites to make QR codes and best to Google QR Code Generator.

For this article, we will use https://www.qr-code-generator.com/. However, they are all similar.

Paste the URL where the website asks. With this site it automatically then creates the QR Code for you on the right.

You can then download it as a picture and then pop on your advertising material.
