How to Create a Broadcast Schedule and Ticker Overlay

Updated 15 Oct 2026

For events that will be streamed or broadcast live, BowlsLink allows a Schedule to be integrated with competition and fixtures along with a ticker overlay – a ticker overlay allows the ability to continually display additional information for your viewers without distracting them from the live-action, i.e. other matches up-to-date scores.

This article will demonstrate how administrators can create Broadcast Schedules and an Overlay Ticker as well as where they can be found on BowlsLink Results Portal.

Broadcast Scheduling

To add a broadcast schedule or a VOD (Video on Demand) – please navigate to the fixture section then the appropriate final published fixture, and then the list of matches.

On the right-hand side of the matches, click the tool icon and select ‘Broadcast Schedule’. This will open a sidebar of the events’ detail and that Broadcast information available to add.

Broadcast Details

  • Platform Name – The name of the platform that this will be displayed on ie. YouTube, Facebook, Foxtel etc..
  • Destination Label – The label to display along with the platform, i.e. Live on Bowls TV
  • Destination URL (Toggle Yes/No) – If the destination of the broadcast should be to a URL, set to Yes and paste in the required URL
  • Broadcast is VOD (Video on Demand) – If the broadcast is to a VOD or a pre-recorded video, set to Yes
  • Time zone and Estimated Start and End Time – set the date and time of the broadcast schedule

Broadcast Schedule Example

Below is an example of Broadcast Schedule created for an event – these details are available for a competition via their page on the BowlsLink Results portal

Overlay Ticker

Please NOTE: Tickers are NOT supported for Sides Competitions. For Tickers to be displayed, when setting up a Competition tick ‘No’ to ‘Is this a Sides Competition?’.

Select the Style of the scoreboard via the Theme Selection dropdown, or select other and provide a URL to an external match stylesheet.
