Bowls Australia Club Websites

Updated 15 Oct 2026

Clubs can obtain a free website and domain. Whilst the website offering is via a template it provides enough flexibility to allow clubs of any size to tailor to their requirements. For more information regarding BowlsLink websites click here.

Introduction

Bowls has acquired the website domain name bowls.com.au to provide free of charge to Clubs on the recently released BowlsLink system partnership with Memberpoint.

This will provide clubs with an ability to describe their URL in marketing collateral in a very simple way and access websites such as www.darebincity.bowls.com.au.

There are two options available to organisations accessing the Memberpoint websites:

  1. Purchase their own domain name – i.e. www.hallsheadbowls.com.au
  2. Use the provided bowls.com.au domain name.

For further information regarding the these websites, please contact your STA representative below, or Bowls Australia.

Purpose of BA Club Websites

Bowls Australia provides a free WordPress website for Regions and Clubs in Australia.
Whilst the website offering is via a template it provides enough flexibility to allow clubs of any size to
tailor to their requirements.
Once your website has been set up, you will receive emails from WordPress (could go into junk/spam
folders) to confirm your login and to reset password.
To login to the web site is it the web address provided in the signup form with /login after. Eg:
www.XXXXX.bowls.com.au/login.
Once you are in to the website there is a few things to think about and have a look around before
you dive into it.

Purpose – why does your club need a website, is it to attract visitors, new members, people wanting
a function or to provide information to members or something else or a combination of these. How
does it work alongside social media.
Have you completed the BowlsLearn course on Websites? If not go and complete as will give you
examples of other clubs and how they have used the Bowls Australia websites.

Content – consider what content you want and how it fits. It is best to develop a sitemap and menu
structure of how you want your site to look. As you want it to be easy for people to find information
but not too cluttered that they find it hard to search for content.

Basic Info – update address and contact info plus club colours and logo straight away, so you start
getting the shell of the website going and if anyone finds the page they can see it is under
construction.

Home page – fill out home page content. Most prominent page so include most important content.
Think about what you want on the home page. Do you want it sharp and simple or long and wordy?
Pictures, make sure they are high quality.

Pages – create pages for rest of website. Add into menu structure as you go.

News – Are you creating news articles? If using the news banner on homepage, make sure you use
except option on News so can have 1-2 sentence hook to get people to read the articles.
