Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Member Data
As part of a commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Bowls Australia want to garner a strong understanding of our participation composition to ensure we are making informed decisions about the future direction and priorities areas of what we do.
The information members provide will help us to understand where we are underrepresented, identify our cultural capabilities and ensure our focus is on supporting and sustaining an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment for our sport.

DEI Data
The recent BowlsLink Update (v1.34) has introduced five (5) key areas of DEI Data collection across areas including:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples
- LGBTIQ+
- Cultural and linguistic diverse (CALD)
- Citizenship & Eligibility
- Disability
The information provided in these areas is OPT-IN (voluntary) for members, should they wish to disclose this, otherwise they can leave this information blank.
Only in exceptional circumstances could a Club complete this information on a member’s behalf and if the member allows the club to do so, i.e. the member has visual impairments to complete the detail.
The development of this data collection has been decided in alignment with the Australian Sports Commissions (ASC) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Framework, strengthening the inclusivity and welcoming nature of Bowls throughout Australia.
To add DEI Information to a Member’s profile, they can do so via their Member Overview and selecting the Diversity and Inclusion Information header and the ‘Edit Information’ option on the top right-hand corner of the page.
Alternatively, they can select Edit Profile on their left-hand side menu navigation and then select the Diversity and Inclusion Information header and complete the relevant information they choose.

For Clubs, this information will be gathered and reported as part of the Key Details report.
